Deaf Man Discovers His Wife Is Pregnant And His Reaction Is Very Moving

This Christmas, David received a little bit more than he was expecting in his gift bag.

Brittany LeBlanc Welch had recently become pregnant. While we aren’t certain, we believe the pregnancy came as a total shock to David, who was not expecting this news. However, upon discovering that his wife is pregnant he immediately responds with a moving burst of emotion.

It’s hard to watch this video without having your heartstrings tugged at.

The moment David discovers he’s becoming a father, we see a look of pure bliss:

But what were they signing?

After finding this video, we were moved to tears, but then we wondered what the couple had been signing in ASL (American Sign Language). Lybio seems to be a source with a translation, walking us through the moment of realization laid out by David’s hands, but reflected in his eyes.

Apparently, the interaction went as follows:

“Dad’s…”

“You’re pregnant!?”
“We’re going to be a mom and dad?”
